The festival's public screenings present the five Filmfest DC 2026 award-winning features — specific dates and times to be announced. The 27 nominated films of the Summer Showcase and War & Peace sections compete for the festival's awards, revealed at the Closing Night ceremony on Sunday, August 9.

About the Nominated Films

The 27 features of the Summer Showcase (15 films) and the War & Peace new selections (12 films) are the festival's 2026 Official Selection — nominees in competition for the festival's awards. The winners are revealed at the Closing Night ceremony on August 9 and will then be brought to Washington screens.
